A Deep Dive into Physics-Based Rendering for Brand Identity.
The Challenge
The primary technical challenge was achieving a photorealistic glass dispersion and refraction effect. This required intensive work in physics-based rendering to balance artistic direction with realism, specifically in fine-tuning caustics and chromatic aberration. The process was computationally demanding, requiring long render times. Further challenges included optimizing the final animation for various digital platforms without losing visual fidelity and developing a sound design that enhanced the crystalline aesthetic.
Our Objective
Our goal was to create a visually striking logo animation for Focotik that reflected its identity as a modern UI/UX firm. We aimed for a sophisticated aesthetic that communicates precision, clarity, and innovation. The animation needed to be a versatile, high-impact asset for all digital platforms, symbolizing the company’s process of refining complexity into a clear, beautiful user experience.
The Solution
Axisology implemented a comprehensive 3D workflow to overcome these challenges. We began by engineering a custom, physically-based glass shader specifically designed to produce pronounced chromatic aberration and light dispersion effects. A sophisticated studio lighting environment was then constructed to generate realistic caustics, adding depth and authenticity to the material.
Each frame was rendered with meticulous precision to ensure noise-free, crystal-clear results. The final rendered sequence was then advanced to post-production, where we performed final color grading, compositing, and integrated a custom-designed soundscape. This final step unified the visuals and audio, enhancing the premium, crystalline aesthetic and delivering a polished, impactful brand asset.

The final Focotik render is a study in controlled complexity. This is more than a 3D material; it is a custom-engineered digital asset designed to embody the brand’s identity. By developing a physically-accurate glass shader, we achieved a signature look defined by its pronounced chromatic aberration and prismatic light dispersion. Every curve and ribbed surface interacts with the virtual light to create a dynamic, crystalline effect. Precision in Form: Designing Light Interaction
Before any light is cast or materials are applied, the foundation of a photorealistic effect lies in the model’s form. This clay render reveals the intricate, procedural ribbed surfaces we engineered for the Focotik logo. For the Focotik logo, we moved beyond standard presets, creating a bespoke lighting environment using a custom-designed HDRI paired with a meticulous studio light setup.
